Amazingly...yes! Kolob Terrace is 8,000 feet above sea level and despite being in the heart of Zion, it's also in the mountains. When temperatures are peaking in the 100's in St. George and Springdale, there is honestly no better place to be than on the reservoir in Kolob.
We're about an 45 minutes away from Springdale an hour from St. George. Trips from both towns wind you through Zion National Park along the Kolob Terrace Road and some of the most exquisite scenery South West Utah has to offer. The ride is worth it for the scenic drive alone!
We do! We also sell snacks and tee shirts and stuff like that. If you need to do some more serious shopping, you can visit the Kolob Welcome Center which you'll pass on the way up to the reservoir.
The Terrapin Outpost is a full service restaurant/bar located by the Kolob Welcome Center, about 1 mile away from the reservoir. They’ll also be happy to set you up with a lunch cooler or a sunset dinner to enjoy at the reservoir. Let us know if you’d like us to help you with reservations! We can take an order for you at the Reservoir and it'll will be ready and waiting for you at the Kolob Market Place Bar & Grill,
Send us a message with any comments, questions, or scheduling concerns and we'll get right back to you!
The Kolob Terrace Road is one of the most scenic drives in the lower 48 States. The road cuts through Northwest section of Zion National Park. Passing trailheads for the Subway (Back Country Permit required), Cave Valley, Wildcat Canyon, Lava Point, and the West Rim Trail the pavement ends at the Kolob Reservoir. Rent a Watercraft with us, find temperatures 20 degrees cooler than St George or Springdale.
Enjoy the Ride, and a fantastic lunch or dinner at the Kolob Market Place Bar & Grill.
